This is EDOARDO, a beautiful 9-year-old German Shepherd from Isola dei Baroni. He suffered a spinal infarction at the age of 6. Although he recovered from the resulting hemiparesis, his right side remained weak. He struggled to walk properly and could no longer jump into the car on his own. WHEN TRADITIONAL THERAPIES FALL SHORT

Despite my training and experience in Western veterinary medicine, facing difficult—and sometimes seemingly hopeless—cases that didn’t respond to standard treatments pushed me to rethink everything and search for new solutions.

Caring for patients with fragile health—refractory epilepsy or animals with complex, chronic, or oncological conditions—made me wonder if there were more effective approaches than traditional treatments. This curiosity led me to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic nutrition, kinesiology, and other complementary therapies.

I turned to integrative medicine to find better solutions for the most challenging cases. Inspired by the WHO’s recognition of integrative approaches in human medicine, I began applying the same principles to our beloved pets. By addressing multiple organs and systems at simultaneously, this approach helps uncover the root causes of illness and restore our dogs’ and cats’ dormant energy, supporting fragile health balances on several levels.

THE ORIGINS OF THE INTEGRA METHOD
Over the years, I’ve worked with top veterinary specialists, participated in innovative research, and continued my studies in complementary therapies. Integrating these approaches felt natural as the results with patients were often far better than traditional or single-method treatments.

I learned that the real challenge isn’t finding a single ‘solution,’ but knowing which therapy—or combination—best fits each patient at the right time.

I thought I was missing something. But the more I learned, the more I realized that the goal wasn’t to find a single “solution.” The real challenge was knowing which therapy—or combination—was best for each patient at that specific moment.

This ongoing process is a continuous spiral: complex cases, study and research, collaboration with colleagues, integration into treatment plans, excellent results—and then starting again with new challenges

This is why, even today, I am motivated every day to refine and develop what has become my work approach: the INTEGRA METHOD. For over 10 years, I have listened, observed, and cared for our four-legged friends with love and dedication, combining Western scientific methods with Chinese medicine and complementary approaches that I continue to expand.
