The integrated application of Western and Eastern medicine, therapeutic nutrition, has also given surprising results for Stella.
Stella’s story is truly remarkable!
As a puppy, she was struck by a tractor, fracturing both her hind legs. She barely recovered, but then developed a severe, medication-resistant form of epilepsy. Life in the shelter was incredibly difficult for her, with intense, continuous, and prolonged cluster seizures.
Despite everything, Stella has an incredible will to live, a true little warrior. But the shelter couldn’t cover the costs of her care, and her future seemed uncertain. Yet sometimes, miracles do happen!
Stella met Laura, who decided to take her in and care for her. Determined to find treatments that could complement traditional therapies, Laura gave Stella a new chance at life!
On December 23, 2014, Laura brought Stella to me for a neurological examination, following her veterinarian’s recommendation. I clearly remember that first meeting, hearing Stella’s sad and painful story. Luckily, along the way, she had found Laura, the first person who truly cared for her.
Today, the story of Laura and Stella gives hope to many epileptic dogs who find themselves in desperate situations.
Although Stella isn’t fond of being touched by veterinarians, she has always cooperated willingly with needle treatments. She often relaxes so completely that she curls up and even closes her eyes. She has also allowed acupressure and gentle manipulation of her acupuncture points.
